THE STRENGTH IN AUTISM

HOW TO USE AUTISM AS A STRENGTH

Although autism has its challenges, it also has its strengths. A huge strength associated with autism is that obsessive interests can be used to become very experienced in whatever interests that may be . This obsession can be used in a positive way when managed correctly. This makes an individual very determined and persevering when engaged with that interest. Another strength associated with autism is the unique perspective it brings. Unique perspectives is a key component for innovations. Also people with autism, although might not always express, have intense emotions. When managed correctly, they can tap into these intense emotions and use them to their advantage. Additionally, somebody with autism may have a greater understanding of empathy by using their own experiences and challenges with autism. People with autism may also have special natural talents such as exceptional analysis, unrivaled attention to detail, amazing creativity, a great memory, a wide imagination, natural intuition for math, and excellent

fact-recalling capabilities. Know that each individual with autism is a different person, and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. However, gaining knowledge about autism can drastically help an individual recognize those strengths and weaknesses and use them to improve their quality of life.
