The founding members of The Britain Foundation include good friends who have known each other since high school and beyond. Hosting fun events was a cornerstone of the friend group, and it was only a matter of time before something like The Britain Foundation was to form out of it.
The first BNSN (Britain’s Neighborhood Sports Network) Basketball Tournament was held on July 31, 2022. This tournament was held between a handful of high school friends, and was played for prizes. The event was private, and not sponsored.
In the beginning of 2023, talks of hosting the second annual BNSN Tournament began. Since being diagnosed with autism, Britain Broderick wanted to do something to bring awareness to the disorder, and positively affect the local autism community. This led to the idea of a “for charity” tournament.
After some research, Britain found that the best way to achieve his goal, as well as legitimately raise money for the cause, was to create a foundation. Other members of the friend group, as well as Britain’s father, were brought on board. The Britain Foundation was officially formed on February 23, 2023.
